Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using theexpatmath.com (the “Site”) or purchasing any product or membership referenced on it, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Site or purchase any product.
These Terms are between you and The Expat Math (“we,” “us,” “our”). See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your information.
2. Not professional advice
Nothing on this Site, in the retirement calculator, in the Country Finder assessment or report, in the Starter Kit, or in the community is financial, tax, legal, immigration, or medical advice. All content is for general informational and educational purposes only. Country and budget recommendations reflect general research and modeling, not a personalized recommendation from a licensed financial advisor, attorney, tax professional, or immigration consultant. Before making any decision about retiring abroad — including tax residency, healthcare, visas, or moving your savings — consult a licensed professional in the relevant country and jurisdiction.
3. Our products
- Free guide / lead magnets — informational PDFs delivered by email after you provide your contact information.
- Starter Kit / workbook — a downloadable spreadsheet/workbook, delivered digitally after purchase.
- Country Finder — a personalized report based on your answers to a questionnaire. Your answers are analyzed with the help of our systems, and the resulting draft is personally reviewed and approved before you receive it. The report reflects general modeling and publicly available information; it is not a guarantee of any specific outcome, tax treatment, visa eligibility, or cost of living, and is not professional advice (see §2).
- Community membership — a recurring subscription described on our Community page. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for billing, renewal, and cancellation terms.
4. Payment and delivery
Digital products are delivered electronically (download link, email, or PDF) after payment is confirmed by our payment provider. Because our products are digital and delivered promptly, refund eligibility is governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy, not by general assumptions about physical-goods returns.
5. Acceptable use
You agree to provide accurate information when using our calculator, Country Finder questionnaire, or any form on this Site, and to use the Site and any community access only for lawful, personal purposes. You won't resell, redistribute, or publicly republish paid content (the workbook, Country Finder report, or community materials) without our written permission.
6. Intellectual property
All content on this Site — including the calculator, workbook, Country Finder report templates, and community materials — is owned by The Expat Math and may not be copied or redistributed except for your own personal use.
7. Access and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the community or any paid product if you violate these Terms, without affecting fees already paid for products already delivered.
8. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the law of the jurisdiction where The Expat Math operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Specific governing-law and dispute-resolution provisions (including how and where disputes are resolved) will be finalized with input from a licensed attorney before this clause is relied on in an actual dispute, and this section will be updated once that happens.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Expat Math is not liable for any decisions you make based on information, calculators, or reports provided through this Site, including decisions about retirement location, taxes, immigration, healthcare, or finances. Our total liability for any claim related to a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for that product.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
