Disclaimer
1. Educational purposes only
Everything on theexpatmath.com — the site itself, the free calculators, the Expat Math Score, the Country Match quiz, the free guide and workbook, the Country Finder report, and any future community or course content — is provided for general educational and informational purposes only.
This is an educational research report based on publicly available data and the inputs you provide. It is not personalized financial, tax, investment, immigration, or legal advice, does not account for your full circumstances, and does not create an advisory or fiduciary relationship. Consult a licensed professional before acting.
2. Not financial, tax, investment, legal, or immigration advice
Nothing here is financial, tax, investment, legal, or immigration advice, and nothing here is medical advice. We are not your financial advisor, tax preparer, attorney, or immigration consultant, and using this site does not create an advisory, fiduciary, or client relationship of any kind between you and The Expat Math. We do not hold ourselves out as, and do not imply we hold, any professional license or credential — including “advisor,” “planner,” CFP, CPA, EA, or “tax professional” — and nothing on this site should be read as implying otherwise.
Before making any decision about retiring abroad — including where to live, your tax residency, your visa strategy, your healthcare coverage, or moving your savings — consult a licensed professional in the relevant country and jurisdiction.
3. All figures are estimates
Every dollar figure, percentage, and statistic on this site is either an estimate built from our own stated planning assumptions, or a figure drawn from a named third-party source with a date. See our Methodology & Assumptions page for the full breakdown of what each calculator assumes, what it deliberately excludes, and where every statistic comes from. Your actual numbers will differ from any estimate shown here — sometimes significantly — based on your specific circumstances.
4. Laws and rates change
Tax law, visa requirements, healthcare rules, and program eligibility change, sometimes with little notice, and can vary by country, by your citizenship, and by your individual situation. Figures on this site reflect our research as of the “last reviewed” or “last updated” date shown on the relevant page and may be out of date by the time you read them. Always verify current rules directly with the relevant government agency or a licensed professional before relying on them.
5. No outcome is guaranteed
We do not guarantee any specific financial outcome, tax treatment, visa approval, cost of living, or result of any kind from using this site, our calculators, or the Country Finder report. Retiring abroad involves risk and depends on factors specific to you that a general-purpose tool cannot fully account for.
6. Affiliate disclosure
Some links on this site (for example, to healthcare, insurance, and money-transfer providers) are affiliate links. If you sign up or purchase through one, The Expat Math may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We only link to providers we have researched and would reference regardless of commission, and a disclosure appears next to each such link at the point it's presented, not only here. This does not change our no-advice position in §2 above — an affiliate relationship is not personalized advice to use that provider.
7. Where this disclaimer also applies
This disclaimer is incorporated by reference into every calculator and tool output on this site, the Country Finder product page and checkout, and every delivered Country Finder report — each of those places carries a version of this notice directly, and this page is the full statement they point back to. See also our Terms of Service §2 and our Methodology & Assumptions page.
